~*Djinn Tribes*~

 Jann
-The Jann is the djinn of the Earth element, and is believed to have been the first race of djinn ever to inhabit the earth. They are also considered to be the lowest and weakest form of Djinn because they worked so closely and heavily with humans. They represent strength, abundance, stability, and femininity, bringing peace and wealth into the home, or strength in troubling times. This particular type of Djinn likes to serve. This is the ONLY Djinn type that can not shapeshift at all.

 Jinn
-The Jinn are basic and very common since they were one of the first Djinn tribe to be created. There is not much difference between this class of Djinn and the Jann classification. They also liked to serve and work closely with humans. However, the Jinn typically had the gift of prophecy. They are the least magical of all the Djinn, but they love mortals and often enjoy having intellectual debates with them. They are most commonly in mortal form (in order to easily talk/debate with them) and some have nearly become mortal.

 Marid
-The Marid are often associated with open waters of the seas and oceans where it finds sanctuary. The Marid are arguably the most powerful of the Djinn. (The Shai'tan would beg to differ). They also have the ability to grant wishes to mortals, but that usually requires battle, and according to some imprisonment, rituals, or just a great deal of flattery. The Marid may or may not serve. It typically depends on their mood and often a lot of flattery and stroking their ego. They were masters of weather control. Without proper respect, there was a possibility a sailor's ship would be destroyed. In their natural forms, they often have blue or green skin to reflect their connection to the ocean. They are very few in number. They are not on friendly terms with the Ifrit (due to the Ifrit holding a grudge when the Marid saved some of their victims a long time ago). The Marid are Master illusionists and often use this to trick others.

 Ghul
-They were believed to have taken the form of various animals (shape-shifters) and in many monstrous shapes, to haunt burial grounds and other sequestered spots, to feed upon dead bodies and kill and devour every human creature who happened to cross their path. They are crazed with a desire to feed. They are also considered to be  the most depraved of all the tribes, even though they are intelligent. They are most commonly female and will openly attack individuals or small groups. However, they are HIGHLY superstitious.

Shai'tan (Shaitan)
-These malevolent jinn could be guilty of anything from tossing bricks off buildings, causing death or illness, or worst of all leading people away from their faith. The Shai'tan are arguably the most powerful type of Djinn. (The Marid would beg to differ). They are very few in number and often like to live very high up in the mountains or deep beneath the Earth in caves. They are the Master Manipulators of the Djinn. They often deceive and manipulate others in order to acheive their own ends. They are Masters of shape shifting (and can typically take on good of evil looking forms) simply because it aids them in their quest to deceive, corrupt, and kill. They are natural stratedgists and often use disease (or other people) as their weapons. They typically like to watch people destroy themselves so they can enjoy the show. They are the ones responsible for the corruption of Adam and Eve while they were living in Paradise. Even though they are said to exist on the border between light and dark, they are considered the darkest, most evil, of the Djinns (direct descendents of Iblis himself).

 Ifrit (Afrit)
-An ifrit is an enormous winged creature of fire, either male or female, who lives underground and frequents ruins. They tend to like living in the most desolate of places and are extremely violent towards mortals. They will attack anyone who disturbs them. They are known for their brute strength. The Ifrit were originally corrupted by demons and interact the most with infernal (fire based) powers, since it was said that they were made of fire. They are extremely susceptible to magic, which humans can use to kill them or to capture and enslave them. Most people would be extremely lucky to survive an encounter with an Ifrit.
